Commercial Landscaping in Orlando

GreenWorks handles commercial landscaping in Orlando for office parks, retail centers, apartment communities and HOAs. We’re a family-owned company based here in Central Florida, not a national chain. You work with a local, owner-run crew that knows the heat, the sandy soil and the summer storms, and you can pick up the phone and reach us.

Who We Work For

People judge a property from the parking lot. Tenants, shoppers and residents notice overgrown beds and brown turf long before they notice anything else. These are the properties we take care of:

Office Parks

Clean entrances, edged walks and trimmed shrubs around the buildings your tenants walk past every day.

Retail Centers

Parking lot islands, front beds and road frontage kept neat, so the center looks open and cared for.

Apartments and Property Management

Common areas, building beds and turf kept up on a regular schedule, so leasing tours start with a good first look.

HOAs and Community Associations

Entrances, common areas and seasonal color for Orlando neighborhoods. Our HOA page covers how we work with boards and managers.

Commercial Landscape Maintenance

Most of our commercial work is ongoing maintenance. We visit weekly during the growing season and move to every other week in winter, when Central Florida grass slows down. A maintenance plan can include:

  • Weekly landscape maintenance (every other week in winter)
  • Seasonal flower rotations, two to four times a year
  • Irrigation system upkeep
  • Upgrades and replanting when you need them
  • Weed and herbicide control
  • Lighting for signage and pathways

We walk the site with you first and build the plan around what the property actually needs. For sprinkler repairs and system checks, see our irrigation and sprinkler services.

Commercial Lawn Care

Commercial lawn care is the turf side of the job. On each visit the crew mows, edges, string trims and blows off walks, curbs and parking areas. Most Orlando properties have St. Augustine, Zoysia or Bahia, and each one does best at a different mowing height, so we cut to the grass you have.

We also watch for the usual Central Florida trouble: chinch bugs, brown patch fungus and dollar weed. Catching them early keeps a small spot from turning into a dead strip along your entrance. If you’re looking for service at home, our Orlando lawn care page covers residential lawns.

Commercial Landscape Design and Upgrades

Sometimes a property needs more than upkeep. We design and install new entrance beds, seasonal color displays, shrub and tree replanting, and lighting for signs and walkways. Walter, our founder, holds degrees in plant science and landscape design, and he plans beds around what actually grows in Florida heat and sandy soil.

Read more about our landscape design services, or see the install work we do on our Orlando landscaping page. If water pools along walks or parking areas after a storm, we also build drainage solutions.

Why a Local, Owner-Run Crew

The national landscaping companies have big crews and regional offices. We’re a smaller, family-owned company, and for a lot of property managers that’s the appeal. When you call us, you’re calling a local business in Orlando, and the owner is involved in the work.

Commercial Landscaping Questions

What is considered commercial landscaping?

Commercial landscaping is landscape work for properties that aren’t single-family homes: office buildings, retail centers, apartment complexes, HOA common areas and similar sites. It usually covers ongoing maintenance, lawn care, seasonal color, irrigation upkeep and the occasional install or upgrade. The biggest difference from residential work is scale, and the fact that the property has to look presentable every week of the year.

Commercial lawn care is the turf part of a commercial property’s upkeep. That means mowing, edging, trimming, blowing off hard surfaces, weed control and keeping an eye out for pests and disease. At GreenWorks it’s usually part of a larger maintenance plan, done weekly in the growing season and every other week in winter.

Most commercial contracts spell out the scope of work, how often the crew visits, what’s included (mowing, bed care, irrigation checks, seasonal flowers) and what gets billed separately. They also say how much notice either side needs to give to end the agreement. Read the included list closely, since that’s where contracts differ the most. Our standard schedule is weekly visits, moving to every other week in winter, and we’ll go over the rest with you after we walk the property.
