Windermere Landscaping and Lawn Care

Design, installation and weekly care for lakefront and large-lot homes

Windermere landscaping takes more planning than a typical subdivision yard. Lots are bigger, plenty of homes back up to the Butler Chain of Lakes, and old oaks shade big parts of the lawn. GreenWorks is a family-owned company from the Orlando area, and we handle landscape design, installation and weekly lawn care for homes in and around Windermere.

Some owners call us for a full front-yard redo. Others just want a reliable crew to mow, edge and keep the beds clean under the trees every week. We do both, and we’ll walk the property with you before we quote anything.

Planting Plans

We lay out beds, borders and focal points that suit the size of the lot and how you use the yard, then pick plants that can handle Central Florida heat and summer rain.

New Beds and Sod

Tired plantings come out, new shrubs and fresh mulch go in, and worn patches of lawn get replaced with new sod.

Planting Under Oaks

Grass struggles under a heavy canopy. We use shade-tolerant turf where it will grow and switch to planted beds, ground cover or mulch where it won't.

Lighting and Seasonal Color

Accent lighting along paths and beds, plus seasonal flowers near the front door, give a big yard a finished look after dark and through the year.

Weekly Lawn Care for Larger Properties

A big lot takes more than a quick pass with a mower. Our crew cuts, edges along drives and walks, trims around trees and lake edges, and blows everything clean before leaving. That happens every week for most of the year and every other week in winter.

Under the oaks we blow leaves out of the beds and keep the bed lines sharp, since shaded areas tend to look messy first. See what’s included in our lawn care service, or ask about adding shrub trimming and bed care to your plan.

Lakefront Homes and Mature Trees

Homes on the Butler Chain come with their own set of problems. Lawns slope toward the water, runoff can wash out beds, and the ground near the shore stays soft after a storm. We look at how water moves across the yard before we plant, and we can bring in drainage work where it’s needed.

Old oaks give Windermere a lot of its character, but they make it hard to grow grass. We’d rather plan around the shade than fight it, with beds, ground cover and the right turf in the right spots. For a full plan, start with our landscape design service.

What Makes Windermere Yards Different

A few things shape how we care for lawns and beds here:

  • Shade from mature oaks. St. Augustine can take some shade, but under a thick canopy it thins out. We adjust mowing height, suggest shade-tolerant options and turn bare spots into planted beds.
  • Bigger irrigation systems. Larger lots mean more zones and more heads to break. We check coverage and set sprinkler run times around the county’s watering days.
  • Sandy soil and summer storms. Sand dries out fast in the heat, then an afternoon storm drops more water than a sloped yard can hold. Good plant choices and drainage keep both problems in check.
  • Pests and weeds. Chinch bugs and brown patch hit St. Augustine here like everywhere else around Orlando, and dollar weed shows up in wet, shady spots.

The Town of Windermere has kept its small-town feel, with lots of tree cover and quiet streets. Along with the town, we work in Dr. Phillips, Horizon West and Winter Garden. See every area we serve, or check our Google reviews.

Questions From Windermere Homeowners

How much does lawn care cost in Windermere?

Weekly lawn service starts at $95 a month. In winter, when grass slows down, we switch to every other week and your rate doesn’t change. Larger lots cost more, so we’ll look at your yard and give you an exact number in a free quote.

Yes. West Orange County is a regular part of our schedule, including Dr. Phillips, Horizon West and Winter Garden. Call or text (407) 300-8337 to see when we can stop by.

St. Augustine is the most shade-tolerant of the common Florida lawn grasses, and some varieties handle shade better than others. Even so, under a dense canopy grass may never fill in. In those spots we usually recommend a planted bed, ground cover or mulch instead of re-sodding every year.

Yes. We design, plant and maintain larger residential properties, and we also take care of HOA common areas and commercial grounds. For those, see our commercial landscaping page. For homes, take a look at our residential landscaping work.
